Looking after Your Family

Putting off the conversations around Wills is common; only 59% of the UK’s adult population have Wills. Not having a Will is reflected in more than 50% of the care home population funding their own care costs. A Will review not only helps you avoid losing your legacy unnecessarily but can ensure your family avoid distress.

Please speak to us today and let us save you £1000’s before it’s too late.

Ask us about

I am Phil, I am based in the East Midlands and cover the whole of England and Wales. I have assisted thousands of people in writing their Wills, Trusts and Lasting Powers of Attorney, and provided peace of mind for many families.

It’s not something we ever want to talk about, but it really does make sense to get our affairs in order before we pass. There are many things you can do to limit the burden on your family, but knowing your estate and legacy is in good hands is one way to start.

I can assist you with things like protecting your assets from care fees, giving others the power to make important decisions on your behalf if you become incapacitated. I can also help protect your assets so that they can be passed on to who you want, when you want and much more. Pick up the phone and give me a call. There is no obligation, but let’s see if I can help you.

COVID-19 Update – We are more than happy to discuss your needs on zoom or when appropriate we can arrange a home visit.

Areas of Expertise

WILL WRITING

With your Will you decide what happens to your house, savings and investments, any insurance, your possessions and sentimental items. Without a Will – The law decides for you, this is called intestacy. Don’t leave it to chance. Call me to check your status.

PROPERTY PROTECTION TRUSTS

Putting a share of your property in Trust ensures that at least one share of the property is protected during the lifetime of the surviving partner and cannot be included as part of their estate by potential creditors, including when assessments are made for residential care home fees. Call me to discuss this in more detail.

FUNERAL PLANS

There are many benefits to taking out a prepaid funeral plan. A prepaid funeral plan protects you against inflation and rising funeral costs, while it also protects your loved ones by reducing the stress and financial burden of arranging a funeral. Between 2019 and 2020 funerals continued increased in price (Wales (up 9.4%), the Midlands (9.6%), and the South East and East of England (9.2%) saw the biggest increases.)

POWERS OF ATTORNEY

A power of attorney is a written authorisation to represent or act on another's behalf in private affairs, business, or some other legal matter, when the named party is incapacitated. Without a LPA it is difficult for partners to act on their loved ones behalf. A LPA must be done while the named party is mentally capable. Contact me to discuss Health and Welfare or Property and Financial LPA’s
